It’s been a long time, but as I recall, for whatever voodoo reason, some folks using the 601 could successfully dig at 720×486 and others couldn’t.
I don’t think there was any reported rhyme or reason to it.

I’ve not yet tried it, but the quality is supposed to be excellent. The larger issue, I believe, is that you can only play back in QT 7 on a mac.
That makes compatibility a big problem at the moment
