We are having problems with Flip Factory and 24p footage in a 720 60p timeline it doubles the length of the exported clip as it converts it to mpeg for the mediastream server for air.

We only work in NTSC or DVCPro for the most part media100 i or DVCPro 100 on the HDs and 844 on the 844 which is all it can do. Telestream is having problems with graphics in the 844 codec when converting to mpeg for the Mediastream server we have for broadcast, either they can make the fonts nice and sharp or the video behind ok but not both at the same time.

Make sure they shoot in 1080i as the HDe can’t upconvert and will not work with 720 video yet. HD suite can upconvert with the OEM Kona 3 card.

Something else to look for on that deck is that it might be set to 24 frame and there”s a paper clip involved in changing it over to 29.97. Waisted half a day with that one on our first HD edit.

Just asking. Is your footage animorphic 16:9 and you want to letterbox it?

In the future (if you have any say in the matter) have the crew cheat on a night shoot by subtracting 12 hours when they sync multiple cameras.

When is there not a gun to your head in this business. Producers are always pushing until the last possible minute especialy since the NLE days when they can keep changing the darn thing. You used to say it waa good enough when reassemble ment starting over on a CMX or the like.

I’ll answer this for Tim. It’s either DVCPro 100 or DVCPro 50 to either a AJ-D950 or a AJ-HD1400 from an oem HDe AJA card
