DVCPRO HD clip settings & sequence settings in FCP
DVCPRO HD clip settings & sequence settings in FCP
Dear Everybody,
OK, there must be something that I’m seriously missing, because some things about HD in FCP don’t make sense to me.
I recently shot a short using the HVX-200 with the P2 card, capturing everything with Panasonic’s DVCPRO HD codec.
What I don’t understand is the following:
We shot 720p24, but in the item properties it says the clips are
DVCPRO HD 720p60. Why doesn’t it say 720p24, if we shot it 720p24? The vid rate says 23.98… So this further confuses me.Also, we shot some stuff at 60 fps- and in the item properties, the description is exactly the same as the other clips that were not slo-mo- that is, it also says it is DVCPRO HD 720p60 and that the vid rate was also 23.98- How is it that the vid rate was not different, if we recorded it in slo-mo at 60 fps? And the footage is definitely half speed…
What is it that I’m missing here?
And last, but not least, why is it the sequence settings in FCP only give me the option to use a DVCPRO HD 720p60 compressor, but not a DVCPRO HD 720p30 or DVCPRO HD 720p24 compressor?
Is there something I don’t understand, or is there something wrong with my copy of FCP? Any insights would be helpful…
I really, really appreciate anyone who posts and helps me understand all of these issues better.
Many thanks…
