Do you have audio scrub on? This was a problem I think with Panther are you on Tiger?

  • What version are you on? I think that bug was fixed sometime ago.

  • If you are in assemble you need to set the timecode switch on the front to internal and the small switch on the inside flap to regen. I think the 750 is the same as a 950.

  • First go into the menu on the DVC Pro machine and change the remote setting to other (Sony) then change the ifinish machine control settings from dv to dyquest (sp) I’m at home not in front of the machine.

  • Are you editing in HD? The drive may not be fast enough, you would need something raided for HD.

[David Battistella] “If you shot 24P A mode then it is very easy to extract the frames when capturing the footage. It was designed this way. FCP can remove them on the way in on the firewire stream, if you have set up a proper capture preset.”

It’s not 24p A it’s 24p Normal and it’s broll to be inserted into interviews that that were shot on DVC Pro50 tape at 29.97. It’s not my choice to shoot the footage that way but as editors we are often given assignments that we have to do the best we can with.

[David Battistella] “Do not insult the software if you are not using it properly.”

I’ll admit I’m not a FCP fan but it’s not doing a good job with the files as imported from the cards. Apple/Panasonic’s preferred way of doing this is to transfer via the camera or the deck/card reader that we don’t have, because we shouldn’t have to. Our files are transferred to a NAS from the P2 stores and this would mean copying the files back onto the cards and bringing the camera into the bay to ingest. I just wish that there were a better way now.

I spoke with my reseller and he stopped by to look at the video it looks like FCP isn’t doing to good a job with the 3;2 pulldown and we are looking into a plugin. Some things a camera or deck can help you with like the pulldown on ingest but in this fille based way of doing things like importing the 24p ( they were shot in the normal not advanced) the software needs a little more development.

Try reloading Graffiti 3.0.2 from the original Media100 HD disk, 3.0 has problems.
