Thanks Patrice – what I’m really trying to work out is how the image “echo” effect is created. I’ve tried a bunch of filters applied as a motion but have had no luck.

Thanks Kevin – the blink filter was what I had in mind but I couldn’t find it.

Ironically I think I own your book and I just haven’t had time to go through it in detail (thank god for the quick fix of the Cow).

    David,

I’m having the same problem – did you ever find a solution.

    Thanks,
    Jesse.

    Thanks Mike.

When I get info on the droplet it indicates it is a Classic application and I see no check box to deselect regarding opening in classic environment.

    Fixed permissions with no success.

The action works directly and from batch. As a test, I tried creating a droplet with an action for which I already successfully created a droplet and I got the same error. Photoshop seems to be unstable opening on my system and often crashes the first time before booting problem. I can’t work out where the error is occurring.

    Any other thoughts?

April 12, 2007 at 5:32 am in reply to: problem with P2 import in FCP 5.0

    Hey BillyHD,

I’ve just installed FCP 5 and I’m having exactly the same problems with footage I’ve saved to an external HD.

Have you had any more luck?

I’ve tried viewing the files with a demo of P2 Log HD and I can get all the metadata on them and even hear all the audio but the monitor just shows up blank on vision (even though i can see the thumbnails just like I can in FCP). The troubleshooting section in P2Log suggests this might be because my system doesn’t have the right codecs to view the files and that this is common with DVC PRO HD codecs. I still haven’t worked out how to confirm that version 5.0.1 has the correct codecs (I’m also using an Australian version of the HVX-200 which may have some bearing on the process) to import the P2 mxf files correctly.

I’ll post anything more that I find out. All other tips are gratefully (did someone say desperately?) received.

    Cheers,
    Jesse.
