I’m on FCP 5.0.4 and I’ve made the basic error of importing 16:9 footage into a 4:3 sequence (obviously I can’t wait to get my hands on FCP6 so I don’t have this problem in future). I’ve been cutting for days during which auto renders have been performed and I assume they have rendered my anamorphic footage into 4:3.

Is there a quick painless way for me to convert my sequence back to anamorphic without turning all my subjects into overweight dwarves? I’ve tried copying the project and deleting the render files but no luck.

I’ve got to deliver today and I just realised the problem this morning.

    thanks,
    Jesse.

First make an anamorphic sequence, then copy/paste your whole timeline into the new anamorphic sequence. Now, your footage might still have a distort on it, so you will want to select all the footage, and then right click them, choose remove attributes, and check the distort box. That should get you up and running.

Thanks Jeremy – I’ve just done it and it works a treat.

    Cheers,
    Jesse.
