The ikegami unit has DV out. You should be able to plug this into your MacBook Pro and record away without a problem. It might work with the DVCPro equipment as well however DVCPro 25 is Panasonics version of DV so there is no way of telling without trying it out. If you don’t have to use DVCPro then a standard DV deck like the Sony DSR-11 should do the trick.

What is the resolution and connector type (rca, bnc etc) on your scope?

  • If the video source from the computer is coming from a NLE like Final Cut then you would just build your video in PAL and use an AJA or Decklink card to pipe the video out. If the source of the computer video is your desktop or Powerpoint then you will need a scan converter and format converter. The Folsom Image Pro SDI should do the trick.

I’m not sure if they crippled this feature by design or if it’s just a limitation of firewire. You could use the 24pA mode I believe and let the camera to the pull down BUT your PAL firestore is still not going to work with the camera. There is a company working on a hard drive that will attach to the P2 slot which should do the trick…if it ever gets released.

Also I don’t believe the PAL version of the FS100 is going to work with the NTSC camera period.

I don’t believe the HVX200 will send 24p through the firewire port only 60i or 30p. I think you have to record 24p or over/under cranked footage to the P2 card.

Sony is not the only company to use a 26-pin multicore cable. The difference is usually what pin goes to what connector at the end. I’m not sure if this cable will solve your problem or not but it was designed with Sony in mind. Perhaps you could email Comprehensive and get a difinitive answer?

I think you need a ccz-rgb type cable. Comprehensive makes one part number E26J-3BP-10.
