    searching for a video converter from Computer to PAL SDI or Component

    Hi all,

    We’re planning a show were we want to use three cameras(SD-SDI) and two computers as sources.
    There are no problems with the cameras but i once heard i have to downconvert the computer signals from whatever resolution they have to PAL so i can use them with our digital videomixer.
    do i need this downconverter for a SDI signal too or was this just for analog component signals.

    If i need a converter, does anyone of you know a good company/ model to purchase?

    Anything wrong with a dirt cheap Decklink card?

    If the video source from the computer is coming from a NLE like Final Cut then you would just build your video in PAL and use an AJA or Decklink card to pipe the video out. If the source of the computer video is your desktop or Powerpoint then you will need a scan converter and format converter. The Folsom Image Pro SDI should do the trick.

    i’m not sure if the decklink card can be used for desktop systems. i will have to check the specs sheet.
