For future reference, power supplies for Aja converters are listed in the accessories tab under the product description at B&H. They are labeled “this item is required” in red letters. We do miss a power supply here and there but its not always easy to keep tabs on over 250,000 items 🙂

The problem with the DSR-11 is that it’s highest level analog signal out is S-video. The deck has firewire out but I’m unaware of any IEEE-1394 based format converters. You could use a D to A converter from firewire out of the DSR-11 to component then into a format converter connected to your UVW-1800. A good D to A plus a good format converter plus the DSR-11 are going to be more than $3000 though. Another option is to capture via firewire into your Mac, use the Nattress format converter software then use your Kona out to the UVW-1800. This is going to take a lot longer of course.

This cable should split the signal for you.

To all folks looking for the PDF file with the 26-Pin diagram I have lost it! We had a system crash and the PDF was lost. If the nice person who originally sent it to me would do so again then I can distribute it to all that need it.
Thanks,
JZ

If you’re using a 2/3 to 1/2 lens adapter I believe it will cost you some light as well.

How about a switcher? Just keep them all plugged in and push a button to re-route.

This is the part number for the component board option.

I’m not sure about format timing but I do know that Discovery communications is very picky regarding what material they will accept. I believe that lowest end HD they will accept is XDCAM HD. If you plan on delivering to them I’d put in a call to make sure you are going to provide the right stuff for their demands.

I spoke to Softimage about running on a Macbook Pro using bootcamp and although it’s not officially supported by Softimage they said it was running great. If it will run Softimage via bootcamp it will run just about anything. As for the Firestore, well it’s a crapshoot. If Ikigami used some strange version of DV it might be problematic. However, if you set the Firestore so it just records what you throw at it (in otherwords not set up to respond to camera control) then it should work. So, you plug the Firestore into the Iki unit, hit record, then just use your camera as usual, but if you turn your camrea off the Firestore will probably continue to record nothing just like a tape deck. People have been capturing video on much less powerful Macs for years without a hitch. I think you’ll be fine unless Iki did something crazy.
