maybe you put it in the wrong place.

i would send your 23.98 project to AE as 23.98 and then add gfx and cc and export back to FCP as 23.98. then add pull-down in Compressor and output as 29.97.
we get lots of DG material edited in 23.98 and we have to add pull-down in Compressor to bring it to 29.97 for broadcast. if you dont you will get repeated frames. in a lot of cases you wont notice the repeated frames but you will if you have fast horizontal motion. there is a droplet available to use in Compressor. i think you can find it if you do a forum search. or you can buy Nattress Film Converter and apply pull-down in your time line. -

try this…click: Sequence/Settings/RenderControl/Resolution/25%.
you’ll be able to zip thru all your keyframes…reposition pics..etc. at a fast rate but lower resolution. when done with your composite repeat above and re click Resolution/100%.
if you have already rendered parts of the project you might have to trash those render files before you try the above.
i use this technique all the time when i have have a project that is logo-soup or heavy effects. -

did you convert your footage to prores422 before editing.?

just above your canvas, tic on the little box in the upper right and make sure it is set to black….not white not checkerboard.

looking at his shirt i’d say that there was a boost in the video gain when send to QT/youtube.
maybe your levels are a little too hot on your timeline. -
there is “droplet” you can use in Compressor to add pulldown to your 23.98 footage. it works great. search the forum for the droplet.
