Transcoding from 23.98 to 29.97???
I am working in Final Cut Pro 7 with compressor.
I am transcoding from 23.98 to 29.97.
I understand that the transcode will add duplicate frames every 5-6 frames to compensate.My question is this: Is there a better way to change the frame rate because right now the video is less than ideal. I’m wondering if there
is a setting in compressor ( which is what was used ) to make the duplicate frames not occur on transcode or if another software or editing platform does this compression better.
What is the proper way to eliminate these duplicate frames to achieve a smooth looking video.Any help in this regard would be awesome.

there is “droplet” you can use in Compressor to add pulldown to your 23.98 footage. it works great. search the forum for the droplet.

thank you very much. apparently there is an interlaced option that works very well.
