OK, now I understand. This was my original opinion on the issue, then I started down the road of two transmitters and one receive… which is obviously a bad idea.

So, how do I go about wiring a second subject with another mic? Wouldn’t I need two transmitters? Kind of lost here.

When I create the comp for the rendered 720p footage to go into, what are the exact comp settings? Is it 720×480, D1/DV NTSC Widescreen (1.2) or D1/DV NTSC (0.9)? Do I have to manually scale down the footage to fit inside this new comp?

After I render out the 1280×720 movie and import it into a 720×480 comp, do I render it out as an uncompressed AVI again or some other codec?

Also, how do I make Encore recognize that it is 16×9 and set a flag for SD TV sets to create a letter box?

I REALLY appreciate your help. This is clearing up some long unanswered questions!

Hi Shane,

The final format will be on DVD. I hope to get it on network television as well. I’ve only been working in SD video for about 18 months now, so I’m not the brain when it comes to HD. Here’s my stupid question: Is HD only in 1080i or can there be 720 x 480 HD as well? Will I lose my HD quality if I down convert to DV?

PS – I read on your site that you started messing with Curious World Maps. I took a look at their demo awhile back and gave up. Let me know if you figure it out!

I’d definitely go with worldwind. I did a few effects with it awhile back and they came out looking pretty descent. It was a report I produced for a network when I was looking for Noah’s Ark in Turkey. Take a look….

I’ve used a great program put out by NASA to do some zoom in earth animation. It’s called WorldWind. And it’s real satellite…

It takes awhile to figure out, but well worth the time. Also download the script maker to go with it. That will help in creating the animation. https://www.mitglied.lycos.de/canosso/uriscript.html
