  • Make video adjust to 16×9 or 4×3 TV set

Posted by Jeremy Wiles on December 10, 2006 at 8:45 pm

I have a 3 minute video I shot on the HVX200. I shot it in HD 720p. I want the video to be viewable on 16×9 HD TV’s and to be letter boxed on a 4×3 TV set. I rendered out the video at 720×480.

    Two questions:

    1. How do I make the video adjust for the appropriate screen size it is playing on?
    2. Do I need to create a widescreen menu or a 4×3 menu?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Just author it with a 16:9 menu and your 16:9 timeline. A DVD player should automatically letterbox this if it’s in the standard 4:3 configuration.

Ohh. Everything seems much harder than what it appears.
