A Blu-Ray Disc or a High Definition video on a DVD? There is no such thing as a bluray DVD. If you can answer that it would help.
Also, what format is your video? Widescreen? Is it interlaced? Is it progressive? Do you know what frame rate your footage is? 29.97? 24?

I had this issue with a camera. I had to ensure that the camera was on and hooked up via firewire before I opened vegas to get it to be recognized.
However, other cameras it didn’t matter. So it is worth a try. Also, what deck do you have? Someone else may have had a similar issue with that deck and can help you better.

Is your media stored on the same drive as your paging file? You may want to put it on another drive. Also, what format are your video/audio files? Could the capture have been corrupt? An easy way to try this is to place some other video files on the timeline that you know have worked in the past.
If the problem persists, perhaps try reinstalling Vegas as it sounds like (if the above doesn’t work) corruption.

If you are dealing with larger quantities you may want to look at something like Primera Bravo II disc publisher. Some can burn and print in quantities up to 50 or 100 at a time. This works well for those big projects. I have a Bravo II and bought mine as a refurb off ebay from a reseller. I got it for about half off what Primera was selling it and I still got the 1 year warranty. The thing to watch out for is ink costs as they can get you!

Hi David! Welcome to Vegas!
Per your question of undoing an fx modification… well there is no way of doing that in the conventional sense.
However, you will notice there are presets that you can start with. One of those is reset to none. In addition, you can make your own presets as well. If you have something that is close, make it a preset and work from there. Once you have it exactly how you want it, resave the preset.

Where are you storing your sfk files? Make sure there is enough room for them and that they are not being automatically deleted.

One reason is that you have to check something to open up those options. For instance, if you have Constant Bitrate selected, you cannot change options under variable bitrate. Ensure you have the option selected that is attached to the greyed out options.

1. Did you restart after the install?
2. Did you previously have 9.0b and it worked?
3. Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it.
4. If you get the same error, contact Sony: Sony Support and report this to them. They will probably give you instructions on what to do from here- one of which will be to clear the registry keys out- but I am not advising you to do this without their instruction.
