Hi, I’m having a problem starting up my Sony Vegas 9. I just installed it and nothing I seem to do works for me. This is the problem details found by Sony Vegas:

    Problem Description
    Application Name: Vegas Pro
Application Version: Version 9.0c (Build 896)
    Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
    Fault Module: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 9.0\vegas90.exe
    Fault Address: 0x6975515C
    Fault Offset: 0x6975515C

    Fault Process Details
    Process Path: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 9.0\vegas90.exe
Process Version: Version 9.0c (Build 896)
    Process Description: Vegas Pro
Process Image Date: 2009-10-26 (Mon Oct 26) 10:41:04

And here is the picture that shows where it stops and shows the error:

Could you please help me out here because I am at loss on what to do. I’ve done these solutions but neither of them have worked:

    – “Go to where you have installed sony vegas
The is a folder called vidcap plugins
go into that folder and ull find an “aviplug” folder and copy its aviplug.dll
to FileIo plugins folder (search for aviplug.dll in FileIo plugins folder) and replace it with vidcap’s aviplug.dll
    it shall work for now
cause the I/O aviplug.dll was secrewed”

    – “control panel > cotrol panel home > system maitnence > system > advenced system settings > “Advanced” tab > “settings” under performance > data execution prevention > click add > go to the place where your sony vegas is, add it > make sure its ticked > click apply, then ok. and your done”

I am using Windows XP and Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c 34bit.

    Please help! >o<

    1. Did you restart after the install?

    2. Did you previously have 9.0b and it worked?

    3. Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it.

    4. If you get the same error, contact Sony: Sony Support and report this to them. They will probably give you instructions on what to do from here- one of which will be to clear the registry keys out- but I am not advising you to do this without their instruction.
