So… the story goes on !!!

    It didn’t work !!!
In fact, it’s work with every audiofiles but not with the audiofiles I needed.

When I imported audiofiles in my 24fps project… the audiofiles basetime didn’t change. They stayed in 25fps. I did many test without success.

My post-production manager found the solution.

The audiofiles basetime was locked inside metadata.
So the only no destructive way was to modify the metadata audiofiles basetime.
And he did it one by one (about 200 audiofiles… it’s a short movie).

    I synchronized all and now… everything’s fine 🙂
I will edit at the date envisaged… next monday.
    A new adventure begins.

    Thanks for all 😉

    Hi everyboby
Tanks to answer me so fast !!!

A friend gave me the solution and it’s exactly what you said Andrew.
My FCP project was in 25fps. And when I imported audio, FCP added a frame rate at 25 fps.
So the solution is to change the frame rate : final cut pro / configuration simplifié (in french, I don’t know what’s the name in english) / choose 24fps instead of 25fps. And restart FCP. Simple no 😉
I tested that and now when I import audio, FCP add a frame rate at 24fps 🙂
Now I have to re-import the audio files and test the sync. I Will keep in touch for that !!!

I read your tutorial Matt. Great job !!!
And I am completely agree with you: “It’s always a good habit to always have your default sequence timebase matching the working project’s timebase.”
That’s why I would fix the small problem before he becomes a big problem.

And for your question Michael : does it sound out of sync ?
The answer is yes and not. Let me explain !
I put inpoint on the videoclap and on the audioclap. When I synchronise both, sometime video and audio matches and sometime not with a one frame shift (I hope my english is correct).
And I don’t like that one frame shift 🙂

Thanks a lot to spend time for me 🙂
    I love this website.

    December 3, 2009 at 10:34 pm in reply to: 3K 50fps slow motion into a 25fps sequence ?

    Hello

I will test all your propositions tomorow… (cinema tools and compressor).

My producer said to me he want finish the movie in 2k after a 4k colour calibration by color… so I don’t have sequence problem anymore between 4k and 3k slow mo 🙂

I thank you a lot for your precious advises. I love this website 🙂

    Jeremy

    Ps… when I drop the 50i footage in the p25 sequence… it doesn’t work… I don’t know why… but It doesn’t work. May be a bug !!!

Ps2… could you tell me if my english is correct or difficult to understand ? Thanks

    Thanks Thanks Thanks

    Thanks a lot Michael 😉

    I will do it !

but your answer suggest me an another question…

After the editing, the movie will send to Color and conform in 4k.
(I used the 2K QT reference movie so I thing I can reconnect the sequence to the native R3D)

is it possible to have a finish sequence in 4k with a 2k shot (the slow mo) ?

Or all the sequence will be in 2K ?

    Thanks Thanks Thanks

    Hello

In fact… I imported the 2k Reference QT movies into FCP… and It’s working (even if it’s lighty jerky still)

but i can’t use the Digital Cinema Desktop Preview (too much jerky)

    So I have question…

If I add 4GB memory… (I have Already 8GB)… Does it approuve something a lot?

    thanks a lot

    Hello Mr Holmes

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I configurated my sequence with an illimited RT, a low playback video quality and a half playback frame rate… and It’s working 🙂

I have an another question for you.

After the edit… The Production want make the colour calibration to Color in 4K.

If I importe the 2k Reference QT movies into FCP, I can reconform in 4K into Color
and if I log and transfert in Native REDCODE… I also can reconform in 4 K.

So which is the different between this both way ? And which is the best ?

    Thanks a lot
