Thanks Walter!
So if I understood you correctly, if I just open a file and render it without previewing it, than I can expect close to zero benefits of using 16GB instead of 8GB. Is that correct?
What about ddr4 vs ddr3 ram types?

You can access them with sourceRectAtTime method. The problem is that accessing is all I managed to do. There is no setSourceRectAtTime for example. I tried setting scale as [“200px”, “100px”], but that returned an error

Now position another layer to always be 20% taller than the text layer while text layer always being at the 66 percent of comp height regardless of the font family and size and number of letters, lines… Should I go on? ????I think pixels make things easier

August 17, 2017 at 9:55 pm in reply to: CC Glass Bump Map: composition and footage give different resultsBecause it is a clean way of storing data for later reuse and it reduce render overhead at the same time. But after all this trouble, I’m just getting more curious why it doesn’t work. I clearly don’t get some aspect of AE.
I’ve completed an openEXR render with 32 bit checked. The issue remains.
I hope I not asking to much, but could you render it the PRO (your :D) way and see if it actually a render setting issue?

August 16, 2017 at 8:42 pm in reply to: CC Glass Bump Map: composition and footage give different resultsThanks. I’ve prerendered to openEXR with project set to 32 bpc. The issue remains. Although I am not really familiar with all the render settings, so feel free to render it your self (it is a fairly quick render).

This are the project files:

You can go into Water composition and render the bump map to see the problem in action.

Thanks for stopping by. I noticed that the first frame was off, so I adjusted it to something like 14.01. The thing is, I am animating Phase all the way to 700.
The first difference is cloud positioning is at exact 130% Phase.

thanks for stopping by. I’ve played with the particular, but I haven’t been able to match the ones shown in video. There is just soo many options ☺
Check this images for example:
https://imgur.com/a/uyzXC
https://imgur.com/a/sCB1jThe clouds fail to form a line at the top, some of them are bursting beyond. Also they are too white. The ones in the video have a little bit of shadows in between them and in general look more cloudy.

Thanks! This is a great way to do it.
