C selects the clip under the pointer, yes.

What clip do you want to select if it’s not under the pointer? What’s under the skimmer or under the playhead?

Just move the pointer away form a clip, or above the timeline, and the clip under the playhead gets selected.

Is that what you mean?

Hit s to turn off skimming, then hit c, and map commands to “select above” and “select below” to move the selection of a clip under the playhead.

Can you post a screen grab of the explosion?

My first reaction would to roto (cut out) most of the explosion, then add the person on top and composite the explosion back in. It would be hard to do convincingly.

Another thought would to add an additional explosion (with a prerecorded effect, or make your own with particles) on top of the original and composite the person behind the additional explosion.

I do not believe there is a way to disable/enable specific audio tracks without a mouse, although that is a great feature request for Apple.

Ask the broadcaster. They all do it differently.

They may give you a cut sheet that helps you calculate timing and lays out the programming.

Have you tried RedCine X?

FCPXML with RedCine X can be weird, so I export an Fcpxml from FCPX, convert that to XML using XToCC. I import that XML in to RedCineX and it should relink to the RAW.

I then export an XML out of RedCine and import to Resolve. From Resolve I can go anywhere (EDL, FCPXML, XML, whatevs).

As far as the new shots, you can provide just the new media and a new XML and they should be able to conform it so that they keep all the work that has been done.

Mine does.

If yours doesn’t, remap the home key to “Go To Beginning” in the keyboard shortcut editor.

Or search for the same term to see where it may be mapped right now.
