Sure, but it can still have matching tc with the video.

If it doesn’t, you can use FCPX to analyze the audio and sync it, no need for Plural Eyes.

It’s a little but more a manual process, but it works well.

My guess with Plural Eyes is that the XML is written incorrectly, and FCPX is importing the audio as a different asset, and not an audio only asset, but that is just a hunch.

The other thing you can do with Plural Eyes is simply attach the separate audio to the video, and then you can make multicams in FCPX.

Is the footage rewrapped to .mov or are you editing native files?

I find audio will drop until the waveforms are completely cached. It feels very buggy to me.

This is with other footage, though, not specifically c300 footage.

While this is true, you cannot generate proxy media without original media. With something like a camera archive, which is basically a disk image, FCPX will rewrap the media to .mov, and then make a proxy file from the .mov, with means you now have two copies of the media, one of the ‘original’ or rewrapped media, and one of the proxy.

You cannot simply generate a proxy only copy of the media upon import from a camera archive, especially with formats that need to be rewrapped.
