  • if you can get some more memory you can turn it back on and sit back and grin as it goes faster 😉

i think it wants 2 gigs / cpu/core .. but 512m is the minimum i believe.. so if you have a 2 core 1 gig system you might wanna upgrade your memory.

I’m sitting at 2 gigs of ram and a dual core 1.8ghz… with multiproc enabled i did a 7.5 min render in about 4.25 min 🙂 very happy – and looking forward to more memory 🙂

your link = “404 not found”

based on only what you said, my guess would be somewhere in the shatter, a value(s) is passing zero.

meaning from -100 to + 100 you pass zero
if you did this on a scale value, it inverts the image, I’m guessing it’s possible something similar is happening to your shatter effect.

    hope this helps

    noticed no one answered…

    Try this – might help…

clear the animation keyframes you made
twirl the settings down for the camera and watch which ones change when you use the Z track forward and back

set the stopwatch on it and use the z track to move forward while holding shift to make it go faster

dunno if you tried that – hope it helps

If you’re refering to the “hot topics” or whatever its called on the main creative cow page, it’s because the topic has to be concidered “HOT” (basically certain people will respond to it, and the server flags it as such)

In theory anyway.. thats how it works on most of the gaming clan sites I frequent.

    Great info here!

Yeah I’m not upset with my pc, dual core 1.8 ghz, it does what i demand of it on a regular basis – its just that yeah I have a few pc’s lying around the apartment / storage and figured “instead of collecting dust….” lol

as for AE’s version that my friend has its “After Effects CS3 Professional” the problem is he lost his install CD.

From what I remember though, I don’t recall seeing the “render engine only” option on the installer when we put it on last year… nor does he. Oh well, I guess we’ll have to find it / wait for Adobe to send us another disk… *sigh*

Hmmm I think the cracks can be done in a similar fashion to andrew kramers “the healer tutorial” (https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html?id=97) I just don’t know about the actual “ICE/FROST” part of it…

Maybe they think because of the “large hassle involved in setup” that it might not be worth it?

I’ve read reports of it DRAMATICALLY increasing efficiency…

And I can combine a img sequence and audio extremely fast… We’re also toying with trying to setup a maya render farm.. but not sure if we want to share the same pc’s or not..

well – if the stuff’s not on the cd’s anyways.. and not on the site… *scratches head*
