2 viewers can be very handy when setting up a 3d scene or animating a camera. I like to keep my Active camera at 50% on the left, with a second viewer (2 views, vertical) on the right. Those views are usually set to 25%. I’ll usually have the top window be the top view, and the bottom window is the left or right.

Somebody please correct me if I’m wrong (probably Dave!), but if this whole spot is just 30 seconds of 2 guys sitting mostly still, having a conversation, I don’t think you would really notice the diffrence in frame rate anyway. The client wants this “Film Look” because it’s a buzz word, I doubt he even knows why film looks like film.
And to me, all this extra work just doesn’t make sense. You’re taking footage that was shot 60i, converting it to 23.98, then converting it back to 29.97 for broadcast.. I just don’t think you’ll see the difference, but some people might.

The stroke effect should only work on the layer you apply it to. Not sure why its affecting more than that.. Maybe a screenshot would help us understand your particular problem.

The FLV codec also needs to be OnVP6 to include an Alpha channel.

I’m pretty sure Aaron Rabinowitz has done a couple podcasts on creating sound waves. Maybe you could get some ideas or at least a starting point from that.

nice work man.. I like that style a lot. You might try a bit of turbulent displacement on the grass planet. Not sure that’s what you’re going for but there are a lot of settings that could be tweaked to make it a subtle effect.

What size is your final render comp? Also, it may help to see a screenshot or two to determine exactly what’s going on..

Also, to make a hole in the TV, you’ll want to set the mask on the TV to Subtract.

Please forgive my ignorance because I’m not familiar with the differences between the Wiggler and a simple Wiggle expression, but maybe you could try that instead?
For instance, the position property. Option click on the stop watch and add wiggle(5,10). That will wiggle the position 5 times per second, a distance of 10 pixels. The simple wiggle expression doesn’t set any keyframes, which I like, but maybe that’s why you need the Wiggler. If you need to adjust the wiggle amounts over time, you could link each number in the parenthesis to an expression slider, then keyframe away.
Hope this helps. If you already know all this, just ignore me 🙂 Maybe someone else will find it useful though!
