You may have already done this but if not, the most standard way to make text stand out against video is to use a bit of drop shadow.

Also, changing the opacity of the red solid should not affect the yellow text. Sounds like something is screwy, unless you have the text set to a particular overlay mode i.e multiply, screen, overlay, etc..

Sounds like you got it figured out, but make sure you leave a little Ram for the OS and any other apps you my have open while runnning AE.

I hate to say it, but that’s about the best you can do. I’ve never understood why you can’t have more than one project open at a time either. I’m sure there is some sort of technical reason for it..Maybe a memory issue?

Ummm, no Father, I wasn’t talking to you. I think we’re on the same team here.

  • Dave, I hate to split hairs with you, but this issue confused me for a while until I got it straight, so in an effort to help other people to not be confused by this, I have to say it here.. Isn’t 720×480 technically 3:2 and not 4:3?

  • If I’m reading your post correctly, I think you answered the problem yourself. It seems as though you are placing a .90 PAR image into a square pixel comp. You may want to Interpret the rendered footage as square pixel instead of .90. Right click the footage in the project window and select Interpret Footage>Main. Then select the appropriate PAR for the footage.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I misunderstood your post.

While I somewhat agree with your sentiment, I don’t think your attitude fosters much of a community spirit. And since you’ve only made 13 posts since may 2006, it doesn’t seem like you’ve made much of an effort to help people at all. So I don’t think your lack of participation will be missed here.

May 23, 2009 at 7:38 pm in reply to: Print a list of logged P2 clips

Thanks again for your time Arnie. Apparently this can not be done with Log and Transfer. I have read the manual, tried experimenting with every option available to the Log and Transfer window, and googled everything I could think of. That was before I even made the original post, which is why I brought my question to the cow.

If anyone else knows of a way to print a list of clips logged in the Log and Transfer window, I’m all ears (or eyes in this case).

This should certainly be a standard feature.. maybe it’s time to make a request.

Thanks Arnie, but I must be missing something. The only Batch List I can create is a list of the clips in the browser. If the L&T window is active and I go to file>export>batchlist, the batchlist option is greyed out.

Just so I understand you, are you saying you can name the clips, maybe add Ins & outs and then export a list of those clips before you capture them to the browser? If so, please explain it to me like I’m 8 years old 🙂
