When you say ‘finally got success’–what did you have to do to get it working? just upgrade the BIOS?

Are you able to use the Shuttle with HDMI, or just component?
Also, Egghead shows 4 different versions of your MB. Could you tell me which of the 4 you have?

Well, chalk up one more non-compatible laptop–an ivy bridge HP dv6. Same as all the others–component works with Ustream, but that’s it.
Still want to hear from Thunderbolt and MacPro users before i make the switch. I may just go back to the old firewire camera.

I’ve tried it at 60i and 25p, neither has worked. This is our only camera that uses HDMI, so I can’t test any other camera.

HDMI is coming right off the camera.
I’ve already tried it with a desktop computer with a USB 3 card installed, that didn’t work either (although the guy at the computer store told me that the motherboard was backwards compatible with the motherboards that are listed on the BM website.)

I’ve tried one desktop and 4 laptops with the shuttle, never gotten video within the BM software. When I call tech support, they tell me to check that my capture settings match the camera (both at 60i, etc). If that doesn’t solve it, they pretty much tell me that my hardware is incompatible.

and if it doesn’t ever finish? Am I going to have a totally non-working USB 3 port?

I had already updated the driver, not the firmware. Tech support told me yesterday that I probably didn’t need a firmware update.
But, I decided to try it anyway. Now, the firmware installation bar has been stuck at about the 50% mark for almost half an hour. Is this normal? (I doubt it–but I’m hoping it is).

that got the audio working, but still no HDMI video in the BM software, (none using Component, either). Talked on the phone with tech support today and made no progress.
