I had the same problem once, using Avid FX, which is actually Boris RED, to create a rolling title. The thing that solved the problem for me was adding motion blur to the title and then change the shutter from 180 to 360.
This gave me Sharp, smooth rolling titles without any flicker.
I don’t know if you have these options (to add motion blur and change the shutter), but if you have then try them out.

True – it is a blast from the past. 4:3 and everything! 😀 But still it is the only video tutorial going through the 3d stuff which I have been able to find. Most of the tutorials out there are more sales videos than tutorials. What good is a sales video if can’t figure out how to use the software? You actually have to pay for Boris’ own tutorials. A mystery to me…

It would be awesome if you could make some tutorials on 3d workflow! It is sad that no one really knows how to use this software (at least not in Denmark) since it has so much potential and the integration with Avid is just AWESOME! With good tutorials it would be so much easier to get started.

Is it possible to manipulate keyframes in curves mode in the timeline? I would like to tweak the ease in/out.

Peter Mcauley you must be the coolest man on earth! Why don’t you make an advanced series of video tutorials on Avid FX? This piece of software has so much potential but it is so hard to find really good tutorials out there that will cover more than just the basics…

I had just the same experience with Media Composer and Avid FX (aka Boris Red) yesterday. I opened my preferences dialog and reset all settings to factory settings. Problem solved.

Amazing feedback and thank you – I look forward to seeing what you find out.

Unfortunately I have not tried the BCC scopes yet. I’m on BCC 7…
I’m really looking forward to try it though.
Are the scopes responding live to my corrections? That would be nice since Avids own don’t.
You guys should definitely put that plugin in Boris RED, since I don’t have video out while working with my secondarys in RED, and therefore can’t use my external scopes.

I’m sorry if I did not explain myself well enough, but what I meant was a hue curve that controls the saturation in a specific area of the tonal range. In a picture of man wearing a very saturated blue shirt, I could desaturate just that shirt. Just like I would do it with a HSL key. The advantage og this is simply saving time.
