RED5 plugin – hang
Hi,
When I do the following, RED5 hangs when I hit “launch UI”.
1- Apply RED5 as a videoFX on the event – making a Extruded text.
2- Hit apply and go back to Vegas timeline.
3- Add a transition on the same event
4- Use RED5 as transition.
5- Hit “launch UI”
Then RED5 opens but there is blank screen, and the program hangs. I need to kill Vegas process to be
able to conginue.
Can anybody reproduce this? -

I had just the same experience with Media Composer and Avid FX (aka Boris Red) yesterday. I opened my preferences dialog and reset all settings to factory settings. Problem solved.

We’ve seen the sam problem in our QA labs and we are working with Sony team on a solution. In the meantime, avoid using Boris RED as a filter and as a transition on the same clip. Sorry for inconvenience.

Just notice that this only happens when an OpenGL filter is applied as effect whithin RED.
When no openGL effect, transition and effect can be applied on the same event w/o issue.
