  • We have been dealing with the file split issue about 4-1/2 years when we got our first hard-drive camera. The concatenation thing is a real handy tip. Thanks.

    James,

I don’t mean to insult you, but, have you ever installed or used a codec pack? This is really strange behavior you are having. My first thought is to look outside Vegas to what could be broken to cause this.

Can you post a link to a small file that does not show video in Vegas? I would like to take a look at it.

Lower the bitrate in customize template. Lower bitrate = smaller file size.

  • James,

Have you tried other render formats? (Mpeg, mp4, etc.)

Have you ever installed a codec pack?

When did you fresh install Vegas? That means uninstall first, not just upgrade in place.

    Get back to us,

From a quick look around their site it seemed as though they have their own unique compressor. You should take a look at one of your files with a codec analyzer to see what it needs to function correctly in Vegas.

Have you installed Canon’s XF Codec. From their site it looks like the video portion is in a proprietary codec.

Select the render template (such as Sony AVC/MVC AVCHD 1020×1080 60i)
    Click on “Customize Template”
At the bottom of the Custom settings there is a dropdown box “Encode mode:”

    Set it to CPU only.
