  • Since latest update my renders won’t render properly?

Ok, since the update I have noticed my render times are much longer. I have two projects currently going, one will render in wmv format, but is long, which could be just the project, but I have previously rendered at a much less time a few weeks before.

My current issue is with a CamStudio recording. It’s less than 3 minutes long with masking and slices of video, with 2 png overlays in separate areas. CamStudio recording is .avi almost 1gb. When I select my render region and select render as 8m .wmv and it starts, but goes no higher than 1% and the ‘estimated time’ climbs to well above 2:30:00 which I have not come across yet. Even after 15 minutes or real render time, it fails to rise above 1%.

I am working with the latest update of Sony Vegas Pro build #683 64bit

I use an Asus i7-2600k with Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M-3GB / 12GB RAM

I have tried with both GPU acceleration and without it.

I have been using Vegas since Pro 9, I bought Vegas Pro 11 about 4 months ago, and this is my first real issue.

Thanks for any help in advance. I am happy to have found this nice forum.!

    James,

Have you tried other render formats? (Mpeg, mp4, etc.)

Have you ever installed a codec pack?

When did you fresh install Vegas? That means uninstall first, not just upgrade in place.

    Get back to us,

    Jeff

I did some more research and learned that the codec I used in CamStudio apparently wasn’t good. Although it was a Windows Codec, it had a hard time rendering it. I also disabled resample on the video cuts and was able to render my 0:02:40 video at about 1:22:00 time.

I am currently testing other codecs from CamStudio and render times.

I did try other formats. Also changed settings in them and used default ones as well.

The render came out great but was a headache.

I’m guessing the main problem was compression related. I newly installed Vegas about 4 months back and on this past week I did the update. Thanks for the response.
