Great. Problem solved. Thanks. I’ll go for the card. In the meantime I am able to digitize at a DVCPro setting with no dropped frames.

I re-installesd the old 2.1 AJA software and it runs perfectly.

Nothing has worked so far. Any other possibilities? I’ve tried using the AJA control panel as well.

In Audio/Video settings I have it set AJA Io RS-422 NTSC. I get a message that say “warning=port needs to be set”.

In the Capture/Presets menu I have it set at AJA Io: SMPTE/N10 8bit NTSC 48K

I also get a message “Unable to initialize video deck. You may still be able to log offline or use Capture Now”.

I have pulled and re-seated my RS-422 cable going from the AJA to the deck as well.

Thanks Shane. These transfers may go out internationally to thousands of different editors. I’m looking for a common denominator. 8 bit uncompressed Apple Quicktime seems to be what I’m garnering this thread. Are there any non-linear edit t systems that don”t like this codec?

Thanks. I am using a camera into lens system and have transferred for years my 35 MM stuff on Ranks, Spirits and Milleniums etc. I just wanted to see basically what format an editor would want me to for provide integration into a project like the opening of “The Wonder Years”. Probably 8 bit uncompressed if the files are less than 30 seconds, right? Can that JVC camera do 4:3 recording?
