I’ve experienced this problem with Apple Pro Res HQ files. Try working with a different compression and see if it continues.

Can’t you just pick up the render from where the error happened and combine the two image sequences? That is generally the advantage of rendering an image sequence.

What are you trying to render out a movie (compressed?) or image sequence?

If all you need is to lighten up the shoulders / side of head: Try throwing a feathered junk-mask on the desired areas and use your color correction effects (i.e. levels, hue-saturation, etc…).

I’ve always had problems exporting .mov files from Flash – try exporting .png sequences with alpha. It’ll be a higher quality export than an .mov file.

You can use the Edit Original command in After Effects to open a PSD file in Photoshop, make and save changes, and have those changes appear immediately in the movie that refers to the PSD source file. Even if you don’t use Edit Original, you can use the Reload Footage command to have After Effects refresh its layers to use the current version of the PSD file.
