If you want a very nice, expression-based, physics-abiding particle expression, then the god of expressions–Dan Ebberts–put together an excellent tutorial Here which is a 3D Particle Generator.
Hope it helps!

Hey!
Zaxwerks creates a “cheated” 3D effect…meaning that the layer is 2D and the plug-in renders the 3D effect, limiting its uses (its not a Maya or Lightwave). However, if you want to fake the 3D object being an emitter for particular, here’s how ya do it:…
1) Create a new solid. Size/Scale/Mask to 3D shape.
2) Layer map your Zaxwerks object to that 3D solid. Now you can manipulate the solid all you want int 3d, and your zaxwerks object will track it…it’s basically like a parent.
3) Use that solid as the particle emitter.I’m not sure if that will produce the desired results, but that’s the only way I can think of right now, there are probably others, but I’m not sure….

Howdy-
It all depends on personal preference, basically. IMO, I would do the text in Photoshop, and place those into Premier rather than After Effects. Reason being is it is 10 times easier to manipulate transitions, gain, and other attributes quickly in Premier than After Effects. For your animations, definitely use AE. My reccomendation would be to use Premier more for the project, unless you feel more comfortable in After Effects….
Just my 2 cents….

Is this when you render? If so, make sure you have Millions of Colors+. The “+” signifies the alpha channel.

Hey!
I’m not sure what kind of camera that is, but just to give you a little encouragement, I’ve shot green-screens with a consumer Canon ZR-60 and have gotten excellent results. I just followed these tutorials by our fellow COW members: Barend’s Procedural Matte Creation and Shooting for Chroma Keying as well as John Dewar’s Creating Light Spill For Better Composites.
Hope it helps!

Hey!
You just have to use the UV editor Invigorator gives you to map it. Play around with the red arrows and numbers in the material editor. Each number corresponds to a different texture map. Hence, #1 goes with material in the #1 slot below it…
Also, if you check “Use Comp Camera,” animating by using the composition’s camera with Invigorator becomes 100 times easier.

Hey!
That is mainly just Trapcode Shine’s plug-in at work with some animated graphics behind it from what I could tell.
So to duplicate it, use Shine and animate the source point. Then play with the colors to get it to the blue-white.

From experience I’ve had with other collegues, the dual xeon machine will do excellent. I haven’t actually been on an opteron system, so I’m not sure how it compares, but on a dual 2.0 xeon machine that I’ve used, it hauls and doesn’t crash too often.
Those machines are so close in specs, its almost more of preference.

I don’t know of any “mask” tutorials other than the AE help file. They aren’t that complicated to set-up or animate, but the help file should get on your feet.

Hey!
Well, there is a tutorial on the COW here for 3D extrusion using the Shatter plug-in…or look at Zaxwerks Invigorator for a good 3D effect plug-in. Other than that, you can always do the titles in a 3D app. such as lightwave or maya and render it out to composite in After Effects.
Hope it helps!
