Greetings!
Are they the round buttons near the right side of the flash file? (In the preview box saying “advance”) Because if they are, you can use both trapcodes particular (or particle playground) and mix it with fractal noise. I think that those 2 plug-ins shoudl be able to accomplish the effect you are going for, it’s just a matter of modifying the settings nad experimenting with masks.
Hope it helps!

Greetings!
My suggestions would be to play around with Foam (Effects->Simulate->Foam). That’s probably the closest “default” plug-in for after effects to liquid-type animations.
Hope it helps!

Hello!
If I may, what are you trying to do? There may be another way than UV mapping in AE….
…But, I do not believe UV is supported in AE, yet, I may be wrong. However, Zaxwerks Invigorator can do UV mapping, but only on objects in Zaxwerks, not any 3D layer. There may be a plug-ing out there to do it. Or just use your 3D app (3DS, Maya, Lightwave) and do it there since those have tools for UV mapping.

July 11, 2005 at 4:37 am in reply to: FCP video out is darker then After Effects video out. Problem?Hey!
I had the exact same problem last week at work. No matter what files I rendered to or what codec, the gamma curve woudl be shifted just slightly higher on the AE renders. So, to fix that I encoded it into a MPG .m2v file and imported it into final cut. That somehow cut the brightness from the AE render. NOTE: You cannot render the .m2v from Final Cut, it must be an external converter such as BitVice or something.
Hope it helps!

July 10, 2005 at 5:40 am in reply to: 1. What is Avid After Effects EMP? 2. Is Mojo wimpy?I don’t think you will have to re-install Xpress Pro….if you download the setup file from the update section on Avid’s site and run it, it should prompt you with a menu allowing you to select what application to install (from Xpress Pro to PlasmaWipes to Avid EMP). Just select the EMP plug-in. And I don’t think you should have to re-install AE for the plug-in to work, but I’m not 100% sure on that.

The EMP plug-in for AE comes on the main Avid disk. So if you download the update or current version for your Avid Xpress Pro, and ran the install file, you would be able to install it from there.
With the EMP, it works with versions (I believe) 6 and lower because AE 6.5 has a default setting for previewing your comp on an NTSC/PAL monitor . (It’s under Edit -> Preferences -> Video Preview) Then, just change your output device. The Avid EMP does something very similar, except instead of going to the Video Preview setting, its under Avid EMP or something. But I believe they do the same thing.
As far as AE and Avid working together, its a bit tricky. My workflow right now between the two goes like this:
1. I edit a sequence/clip in Avid.
2. Export it out of Avid as a Quicktime Reference file.
3. Import that into AE and do whatever on it.
4. Render it our of AE using the same settings as the sequence in Avid. My file output is a Quicktime with the Animation codec.
5. Then I import that into Avid.It works pretty good right now, but I’m not sure if there is a better way.
Hope it helps!

Hello!
On your photoshop layer, did you select the option “Cast Shadows” under material options?

Greetings!
I just finished a project at work that I needed fog, but didn’t have any “fog” plug-ins. What i ended up doing was using trapcode’s lux and setting up a spotlight at a distance so it was out of the camera’s frame and just played around with the intensity, start, and end values of lux. It didn’t look half bad.
Just a thought.
Cheers!

Is it capturing the clip or searching for the specific time-code of the clip? If it is actually doing the capturing, then i would try re-logging it and doing another batch capture on the new clip. However, if it is seeking for the timecode in, i’m not sure…
Hope it helps!
Cheers!

First, with the mojo, what are the specs of the computer you are running it on? It shouldn’t be too slow as long as you meet the minimum specifications.
Second, the Avid After Effects EMP is a plugin for Adobe After Effects allowing an External Monitor Preview (EMP) on a standard NTSC or PAL monitor.
Cheers!
