Does anybody know what plug-in is used to create a liquid spill effect? The kind that spills on screen and creates a splat and drips… I’ve been seeing it around quite often but cannot figure out how it’s created. Is it a plug-in?
    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings!

My suggestions would be to play around with Foam (Effects->Simulate->Foam). That’s probably the closest “default” plug-in for after effects to liquid-type animations.

    Hope it helps!

    Cheers!

What you’re probably referring to is RealFlow (check out their website). That level of realism is used with 3D apps like Maya, 3DS Max, Lightwave. You’ll have to tweak some plug-in that exists for AE to get the look you want.

    Hi,
I think it’s real paint being splattered and dripped, shot on glass or with white paint on a black background and using Luma Key. Do a Cow search for Paint Splatter. I’ve seen many different solutions suggested.

Or if you are referring to the Psyop style (and immitated everywhere) flat, vectory ink splats that drip…..Illustrator is king. A few main splats,….on some seperate layers some drips….then take into AE as a composition and animate drip layers…. A bit tedious,….but it does give ‘that’ look. As said, alot of the ‘real’ stuff is ink shot on white and used as a matte…..
