It’s been since I’ve had that problem. From what I can recall, re-installing Encore solved the problem. However, it seemed that I had to re-install it every time I started a new project (a few months apart).

Unfortunately, re-installing Encore was the only thing that seemed to work. If just opening the project is a problem, try double clicking on the project file itself, rather than opening Encore first.

Embarrassingly simple. Under Edit | Audio Hardware Setup on the menu I selected the line-in/Mic-in with the “s” for default input. BTW, in the control panel I selected only the line-in input. That seems to be preventing gaps in the recording.

    Never mind. Problem solved.

No. I’ve given up for the time being. It’s rare when I don’t eventually find a solution, but I was spending way too much time on this without any success. I found a posting somewhere on Adobe Forums that suggested that this might be a problem known to Adobe that would be addressed in a later update. What’s working for me now is to make a FLV file and use secondary software (FLV Downloader/Converter) to make the mp4. The workaround seems silly when we have all of this “state of the art” software. Thanks for the links. I’ll check them out.

  • No. I’ll just try doing a clean install of BCC.

Totally unrelated to the subject: I was noticing your system. Did you put it together yourself? How well does run (especially for NLE)? How much did it cost?

The DVD files I used were the .VOB/.IFO files I created through Encore. I probably should have been clearer in the first post. I’ll try the image file idea. Thanks.
