I’ve noticed today that when using Audition 3 to record stereo audio off of the radio using Media Center (my computer has an FM tuner) Audition is recording only one of the stereo channels as stereo.

I hear stereo, and when I pan in the windows playback mixer everything is fine. When I’m recording in Audition and pan in the windows recording mixer to the left the recording falls silent.

Anyone know why it’s only recording the one stereo channel? Anyone know what settings I should check?

Embarrassingly simple. Under Edit | Audio Hardware Setup on the menu I selected the line-in/Mic-in with the “s” for default input. BTW, in the control panel I selected only the line-in input. That seems to be preventing gaps in the recording.

Wow! I just bought a Steinberg CI1 and couldn’t figure out why Audition was only recording one of the two channels. The other software I tried had no problems recording two channels. So…..this four year old post helped me out. THANKS!!
