Creating H.264 fir iPod Touch (2nd g)
I’ve been trying to create a H.264/mp4 file of a small portion of a Premiere Pro CS4 project. In Adobe Media Encoder I’ve tried various settings under the presets for both iPod large and small (mostly small), but the video plays very “jittery” in iTunes and won’t play at all on my Touch (I get a black screen). Does anybody know why this is happening?

I am having the same issue — very frustrating given the “iPod” setting in Media Encoder.
There are a couple of thread on the Adobe forums that suggest the iPod setting in iMovie works, but I am hoping there is a *Premiere* solution even though I am using a Mac. One of the threads suggests is related to the QuickTime version required by iTunes.

No. I’ve given up for the time being. It’s rare when I don’t eventually find a solution, but I was spending way too much time on this without any success. I found a posting somewhere on Adobe Forums that suggested that this might be a problem known to Adobe that would be addressed in a later update. What’s working for me now is to make a FLV file and use secondary software (FLV Downloader/Converter) to make the mp4. The workaround seems silly when we have all of this “state of the art” software. Thanks for the links. I’ll check them out.

I can confirm that the medium (“iPod”) export setting in iMovie 09 works. I imported a H.264 file that I created with Premiere using the “iPod large” setting and exported w\ iMovie. It plays w\ no issues on the iTouch.
Hopefully Adbobe will correct this in an update.
