TY. Is there a way to have it copy the files to my external drive and not the library. I find whenever I put them in the library, it gets bloated and slows down significantly. Thx again.

Yeah, it was weird. I did have the footage in the multicam (at every angle) when the timeline goes black. I think it was a glitch. I deleted a number of plugins, and it seems to be working after that.

Thanks so much, Doug. I appreciate your detailed help! Question: what purpose does it serve to add the “Cam 1” or “Cam 2” info into the inspector? Does that affect anything?
I don’t know if you can tell…but I had two cameras and three angles. After creating the multicam with just the two cameras, I added an angle and copied/pasted one of the clips into the new angle. That angle is just cropped in on my 4k footage a little more. So now I have a medium shot and close-up. Is that wrong the way I did it? Is that what messed it up?

First of all, thx so much for the detailed response and all the time it seems it took you to research this.
I actually tried a lot of those (except third party apps)…I will try Catalyst Browse again. It kept crashing on me.

Thx very much. Yeah, trying to get Final Cut to do the work for me of recognizing which clips are slomo.

Thx much. Yeah, I’ve tried that. I think the issue is that even my slo-mo clips are showing a frame rate of 23.98. Shot on Sony FX6. Not sure why FCPX is reading them as that.

Good call. But I checked, and I don’t see anything. Zoom is not turned on in any context. I was thinking maybe it’s a plugin (yoink, etc)…but I have most of them closed. Still stuck.
