Hi. Whenever I export a file from FCPX, I typically delete all the meta info it automatically creates under “Description,” “Tags,” etc. Is there a way to not have to do this each time? I believe I can alter that within a project. But I would love not to have to do it every time I create a project. Does anyone know? Thx!

    This works across libraries…

    – Select any project/timeline in the browser

    – Go to the Share pane of the Inspector

    – Delete all the placeholders and Save as Default

Thank you SO much! Very helpful.😀 So, do I have to do that each time I create a new library?

It would appear to be a per-machine preference and applies to all existing and newly created libraries. So if you’ve set this default on your laptop, everything you open on the laptop will comply.

Carry the project on a drive to another location and plug it into a different machine, that machine’s preference/default would prevail.

EDIT: If you select a project, delete the placeholders, and type something in one of the fields that _isn’t_ a placeholder, that should stick to the project no matter what you open it on.

It is the default written into the FCPX application preferences. It’s not a project or library preference.
