A partially imported clip, that fcpx thinks is still on the camera card, should have an icon showing that. If it doesn’t then you’re probably dealing with a project that’s corrupted in some way.

I don’t have it installed here at home but I’m trying to remember if Final Cut Library Manager form Arctic Whiteness gives you a list and location of offline media… although in your case it’s not offline, it’s just not where FCPX thinks it is.

My first tip would be to use Hawaiki Keyer from FX Factory as it can pull some amazing keys from badly shot footage.

Beyond that for a really difficult key you may want to try multiple layers and masks and cutting the image up into smaller chunks and keying just one section of it at a time. Eg. One key for the body, another for the head, another for just the edges of the hair, etc.

Looking at your preferences, if you select AV Out in the Wimdow menu. FCPX should use your second screen as a full-screen playback device.

Are your clips internally or externally managed? I’m wondering if you are referencing clips that are still in copies of their original camera card directories so final cut thinks they are still on the camera.

You might try consolidating the media.

Sorry – no. There’s no way to copy/paste any of those automated options but you can select all the unmatched clips and then apply match colour to all of them at the same time.

The criteria for a match is supposed to be size, name, bitrate, duration, number of channels, and codec.

Basically you do exactly what you said, only in FCPX :-). Start a new project, under Video Properties, choose Custom and set the required frame size then import the media and scale as needed.
