The trick at the start of the project is to put the scratch audio file inside a compound clip, then edit with that. Once the edit is done, you can replace the compound clip’s audio content with the non-watermarked version.
There’s no way I know of to go back and replace it after the fact if FCPX decides the files don’t match.

To do it quickly I’d make compound clips of the footage, then keyword those new clips in the event browser.
Alternatively, if there were a lot of individual clips on the timeline md I needed to keep them that way, I’d consider sending the timeline to Resolve then have Resolve export it as individual clips and bring those new clips back into FCPX.

I’ve been testing Sierra on my laptop since the public beta came out. As well as the time code window bug, sometimes the show/hide control on sections of the info panel will disappear so you can’t access closed plugin panes and theirontrols, etc. Closing the info panel and opening it up again restores them most times but occasionally I have to restart Final Cut.
That’s the only two bugs I’ve seen so far but I don’t use my laptop for any serious editing so there may be more.

Robin: Not sure what Twitter and I have done to offend you this week but I’m just here trying to help people despite the limitations of the forum software.
Unfortunately, quoting other posts in a reply doesn’t work on an iPad which is what I use for 90% of my forum interactions. I can’t even copy and paste text to fake the look of it. As a result, I have to resort to other more (or less) creative ways of directing my response to a specific person.
At no point am I disputing that you can’t edit once someone’s replied to a post. My issue started when a glitch in the forum software banned me from posting at all. Tim got that fixed but since then I haven’t been able to edit any of my posts, replied to or not.
Between IOS autocorrect and not being able to edit a post, sometimes the replies can be a bit odd. If there’s something I can do that you feel is less offensive than adding a disclaimer, I’m happy to implement it.
I am, as mentioned, just here to help.

The faint waveforms are called Reference Waveforms. They are drawn by FCPX as a full height representation of a quiet waveform, giving you a way to see audio that is too quiet to make sense of with the normal waveform.
The bad news is that you are probably looking at the reference waveform representing the background hiss of a silent channel.

I’ve had the first Frame having no effect issue and in my case it did carry through to the render so check carefully if it’s happening to you. Having said that, it hasn’t happened since the latest Color Finale update.

Assuming you mean laid out on the project timeline, Sort by date in the clip browser, select all, hot ‘e’ to add them to the timeline.

I was under the impression this was only available in the pro version which hasn’t been released yet – outside of a limited beta maybe. I also belive that it only supports the Colorchecker Passport Video, not the other variations of the card.
