    Thanks, Walter,
That did exactly what I needed. Pulled in all of the photos in one massive import and then it quickly weeded out the duplicates.

Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.

Rui, I realize this is about a year too late for a reply, but, have you tried to highlight the separate clips. (or timelines) and tell it to sync using the Mixdown on the audio channels? That’s what I had to do with a project I’m working on now.

Thanks Mark, This is exactly what I was looking for!

  • Thanks for the advice Nick!,

The video camera I know for sure how to shoot with the DSLR I can turn it on and put it on auto ☹ but I will play around with it some before to try it out. The new moon is in 5 days we’ll see how it turns out.

You’re right I do what that silky smooth water motion vs a frozen shot or HD water moving. I’m planning on shooting the video as a static shot. then in post going to layer the same shot on top of it with a 50% transparency and about a 2-10 second delay to help get some of that silky water effect.

  • After uninstalling everything, reinstalling everything, Then uninstalling it again. I went on to install CC2014, then CC2015, then CC2015.3 I installed them all again and run adobe cleaner in between every iteration. Spoke to IT, they didn’t have any luck. I Removed everything again and installed CC2015.3 and tried to upgraded to 2017 and it finally works.

October 22, 2010 at 7:05 pm in reply to: Ripping/Importing DVD Format Question.

Yeah it’s not copyrighted. A Professor records his lectures and burns em down to DVD’s and he’s looking to put together an edited collection.

Can After effects handle VOB files for any compositing? He’s talking about doing some crazy stuff like walking around a double helix to point out parts of DNA, making cells split in his hands like a magic trick, or jogging through the lower intestine.

If not then what would you recommend for a format to go from premiere or the DVD to After effects?

Thanks Mark that did just what I needed it to do.
I wasn’t able to get it to play back multiple strokes.. it seemed to want to play the strokes all at once vs one at a time.

But I was able to pull it off with either a really long single stroke.. or break the clip up into multiple snippets and then pait each one in turn.

    Thanks again

    create your animation as needed.

when you output your animation be sure to use a format that suports alpha channels such as AVI, or Quicktime.

select “composition” from the upper row of menues ( File. edit. composition) and then “Make movie”
(in this case I’m going with quicktime)
click on “Ooutput Module” (usually on loseless by default) and select format: Quicktime Movie.
then goto the format options button then select Animation. click okay
in the same window that has the “format options” look on he right side and select under channels RGB+Alpha
(this alpha channel gives you the transparency that you are looking for…. select audio options if you need them.. then render…

and with long animations remember the file sizes can get HUGE!!!!

this is by no means the difinative options for rending out … but this should work with a really quick deadline that you mentiond.

Moogurus.. feel free to show a better way.. 🙂
