The dashes could work. We’ll have to test. If not, it means everything we get from the Ki Pro will have to be renamed after the fact. Still, it seems from your answer that this restriction is not necessary and could be updated in the firmware. Please consider this. Thanks.

I’m partial to Keylight myself – very easy to set up and tweak in a wide range of lighting and subject circumstances. Yes, it’s included with AE, but it’s also a separate plug-in for FCP. IMO, the only thing better is Ultimatte, but it’s a bear to learn and tweak. The one thing Ultimatte does better than anyone is spill control around hair. I’d put Keylight and Primatte at essentially the same billing.

Waiting for others to report on its real life performance. Please do let us know what kinds of transfer rates you’re getting from the various media types. As much as the product release was delayed, I would think they MUST have it right. 🙂

Yes. This is one reason I like L&L so much. The calculations are based on clip in and outs. Why the built in filter isn’t this smart is a matter of programming that Apple’s dev team hasn’t gotten to. Maybe they should just buy the L&L product and replace the standard filter with it. The results look better anyway and you have more useful control of the results.

I have had the same problem to the point of buying Lock & Load. It worked much better and tons faster, IMO – not to mention it worked period. 😉

Ben, count me in as an investor. That sounds like a fantastic application of this tech. It could be an outstanding control surface for all sorts of apps, actually; not just FCS. Brilliant!

Hate the name, love the device. I’m buying one for sure. The only decision is whether to get 3G or not.

Regarding your update: that’s the way you have to do it – no reinstall necessary.

  • I use the free version, NTFS-3G for Mac OS X, but this looks to be much faster.
