Im not using any external programs for processing. Of course, I use Compressor and Squeeze but neither of them are open at this time.

Sorry- The camera master is SD Mini DV. I digitized it through component to 8 bit uncompressed SD NTSC 29.97 fps.

The media is stored on a striped RAID with 4 Hitachi 250GB drives. I’ll check in with Hector at AJA. I agree, they do have excellent support.

Media is either DVCPro 25 or BetaSP… I guess a few Mini DV cmaera masters as well. All digitized component to DV. Lots of titles though throughout. I usually dont have so many titles in a show and thqt seems to be the biggest difference from my normal work.

That is what I have done to get through this. Im wondering what might be the cause of the trouble because it will surely be back to haunt me.

I am running NDF on these tapes and the sequence was, in fact, set to DF. Sadly the switch didnt seem to make any difference. I am digitizing now with “non-controllable device” Limping along, though AJA has been quite helpful and they are looking into the issue as well. Thanks for your diligence in helping me with this matter. Cheers

Log and capture test was successfull; all logging info is accurate The other clips that were “captured now” have no reel and timecode is zero at the start of each clip. Certainly I can work around this but I tend to Capture now for longer chunks of stuff then make subclips later. It just works faster for me.

We are using webcam shots from ski areas around the world. As you might guess, those images are rarely, if ever, recorded to anything like a real production format. So thanks for your responses but I was hoping to get some answers to my technical questions, not your percieved ethical issues.

I understand your concern about quality. This an experimental post production plan. Do you have any thoughts or answers tothe questions I posed above?
