Try it in the mini timeline (at the bottom of the screen), not the full timeline.
Alternatively, go to the properties, timing pane and adjust it there.

I built an Arrow using the drawing tools. Then made it a group.

Then when I grouped them, I made them particles. All the arrows faced up.

I then put the Behavior>simulation>align to motion.

I changed the Rotation axis to Z and then the Axis to Y.

That seemed to do it for me.

Could you by any chance be choosing Export selection?

Is the project (not render) fully visible in FCP?

  • I think I get what you’re trying to do…
Horizontally, you’d like text block 2 to be on the edge of text block 1.

I played for about 20 min on trying a combination of attractors + repellers to get it to sit.

And then I have idea B.
Text block 1 is Left aligned…and Text block 2 is Right aligned (on the right side of the screen.)

Sorry I couldn’t come up with a better solution.

    Two things….

First, don’t render in color (although you can, it may not be necessary.)

The workflow is to drop the project directly into FCP.

Render there – and look at your materials on your broadcast monitor to really judge the quality.

If you’d like to look at it inside of fcp, make sure you’re looking at FCP @ 100%

You have to transcode them into an editing codec (vs. mp4 which is a distribution codec).

I’d suggest downloading mpeg streamclip (free, open source, cross platform) and transcoding your video into DV.

    Beth,

If you’re looking to look find video across your project, the easiest way is to open the Media tool.

Search all drives, this project, master clips.

You can ‘find’ by name and have every single clip available.
