    Hey guys,

I need to use .M4A & .M4V video and audio files in AVID. Has anyone figured out how to import these files and acutually use them to edit with. Especially the video files.

Has anyone else had this problem? itunes files?

    Thanks!

You have to transcode them into an editing codec (vs. mp4 which is a distribution codec).

I’d suggest downloading mpeg streamclip (free, open source, cross platform) and transcoding your video into DV.

    Thanks Jeff,
I tried it. The file must be protected or something because it only gives me the audio. It won’t show me the video when I import it into the program. It merely converted the audio into a DV file.

    Any thoughts?
