Yes. In Premiere Pro 5.0 it only handled 8 bit, in 5.5 it handles 10

John,

You can’t make ProRes QuickTime on a PC. You can watch it, but not create it. There is no way for you to do this, therefore you have to pick a different codec.
The animation codec works just fine in FCP (make sure your FCP user has the timeline set to Unlimited RT)

If you were on a mac, the answer would be to render into ProRes 4444 (that last 4 is the alpha channel.

Render in either Animation, 100%, millions of colors + (which means include alpha.)

To be honest, I’m not sure. I figure if it’s a disc image, then Apple’s disk utility ought to be able to burn it for you. How about you try and let us know. 😀

Ah, but I have a cool trick.

Import them into After Effects, which DOES respect folder hierarchies.

Then COPY/PASTE the folders into Premiere Pro.

iMovie transcodes your material to AIC – Apple Intermediary codec. This isn’t Premiere Pro’s fault.

Premiere Pro CS 5 and 5.5 would handle the original 16 gigs. What version of Premiere Pro are you using?

I’ve had both installed since the first day that 5.5 came out. No problems. Of course, I’m a little wary about what will happen when I remove 5. I also had to move some plugins (as they often aren’t setup to go into 5.5.)
