Safe to intall CS5.5 over CS5?

I’ve had both installed since the first day that 5.5 came out. No problems. Of course, I’m a little wary about what will happen when I remove 5. I also had to move some plugins (as they often aren’t setup to go into 5.5.)

A Premiere Pro CS5.5 install will not overwrite a CS5 install. They live happily side by side. No problems with keeping them both installed.

Thanks for all the responses. Which leads to another question:

If I have no plug-in’s installed, is there any other reason to keep CS5 on the system when upgrading to CS5.5? Or is it just to make sure all my old projects work properly in the 5.5?

You can keep it for legacy projects and when working with other editors who may not have upgraded yet.
