Motion is the $50 companion tool for motion graphics, where the transitions, text and other effects (not audio) come from; if you own Motion, it makes it possible to build your own text effects, templates, etc. Check it out – it’s on the App store.

I don’t know if this is your problem – but anytime I hear ‘playback stops’ with Premiere Pro – it’s usually fixed by this article (shouldn’t do any real harm if wrong either)

I can’t think of an ‘easy’ way. I think you could open the project in AE, copy the clip from the timeline and paste it back (or delete the original clip first.)

As far as experimenting goes, this is when I duplicate the sequence – then I can experiment, knowing I have the original around.

It actually may not be fast enough for this – h.264 footage is very lossy and makes the CPU/Ram/Drives work really hard. The video card doesn’t enter into the playback (at least not really in this case.)

Right click and drop the resolution in the Program Panel to 1/2 and you should see better playback.

I don’t have cinemacraft in front of me – but whether or not you use that or Adobe Media Encoder:

At 120 min…560/# of mins
560/120 = 4.666 mb/s using AC3 audio.
Make sure you go 2 pass VBR encoding
Do not deinterlace.

Wherever you’re authoring the DVD needs to know it’s 24fps, and it’ll do the framerate insertion for you.

It’s part of the original install – and I don’t think you can steal these. Even on a mac the install/uninstall is a 10-15 min processes. Probably the best way to do it. You should be able to download 2.7 from here.

You’ll need to create an account on their site if you don’t have one – and if you download the wrong version your dongle will prevent it from working – but yes, you can download 2.7 directly.

You won’t find the BCC plugins with this install, so you’ll definitely want to find those disks.

Mac, PC, what version of Avid software?

I’ve seen it on the mac – invariably it’s about permissions on my system or my media; but this is a ‘general’ error that loads of things could cause.

At a guess, the monitor on the timeline – could you have turned it off on the raw clips? It’d be the square TV next to the V1 on the SOURCE side.
