Playback issue on transferred 5.5 project
Hello.
This is my first time posting in the forums. I apologize in advance if it is a “dumb question”. I searched through the forums for a previous posting regarding my issue but could not find one. I will try and be as detailed as possible and if there is a proper etiquette I am failing to follow please let me know.
Here is the situation.
The Hardware:
1) Macbook Pro – 2 GHz Intel Core i7
2) iMac – 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
3) Western Digital 2 TB external hard drive
4) Panasonic HMC 150 recording on SDHC class 10 in avchd format.Software:
Premiere Pro 5.5
Situation:
I work as a videographer for a university and was editing a project in Premiere 5.5 on my own macbook pro. Just recently the computer services dept. installed Premiere Pro 5.5. on my work station here (the iMac). I am saving my project along with all the footage (avchd) on the same external western digital hd.
When I ejected the hard drive FROM the macbook and plugged it INTO the iMac, I opened the project in Premiere Pro 5.5 on the iMac. The project opened correctly. All the media was there. However, when I press spacebar to play the clip (this is both inside the timeline and the source window) It only plays for a second and then returns back to the first frame I pressedy play.
STEPS I HAVE TAKEN:
1)Check the version of both my OS and Premiere Pro 5.5. The versions match across the board.
2) I tried reconnecting the external hd back to my macbook pro and Premiere acts completely normal and as it should.Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
