This is working really well. The only problem I’m having is the echo doesn’t return with the logo. For instance: I pre-comp and animation of the logo flying out, it hol,ds for a second, then flys back to it original location. The echo follows the logo out and holds, but it dosn’t return when the logo flys back.

Any thoughts?

Try this

Duplicate the image on a new layer, use curves and really brighten up your Highlights. add a little bit of gaussain blur to soften, then give the layer a transfer mode of screen. You may have to adjust the opacity a bit.

Now add an adjustment layer using hue and saturation. Bump the saturation a bit. You can even try adjusting the sat. for certian color. (The blues and greens for instance)

Play around with that, I think this can give you what your looking for.

Here’s a way to start with the wood grain.

Create a canvas and apply noise to it. Use a motion blur with the angle set on 0 and adjust until the noise has been stretched out to a lenght of your liking. You color this in a number of ways. I like to create a new layer with a wood color with a transfer mode of “color”.

From there you add othere filters to the texture like sharpen or Gaussain blur. Just play around with it to get the texture you like.

From there you can add a subtle gradient, use some noise to some sharper highlights. You can also create a pattern to match the boards and give them a bevel emboss, then try using a transfer mode (like overlay)for the layer.

This is common when bringing Illustrator text into AE.

Try drawing a box around the text in Illustrator. (give yourself plenty of room), give the box a fill and stroke of none. This gives the program some distance between your type and the edge of the viewable area. You may want to save as an eps (don’t know if CS2 deals with this differently

Yep, did that, same result.

I was able to make it work by pasting the path into Photoshop, then copy and paste back to Illustrator. I had to re-color all the shapes, but was able to make it work. I figure there must have been some corruption in the file.

Thanks again Kevin, I’m still having problems finding this. I have FCP Version 5.0.4.

Under the window menu I don’t have a “Show Movie Properties” I’ve been searching thru my manuals and nothing is indicating a “Movie Properties” Is it possible I have an earlier version that dosen’t have this feature, or am I looking totally in the wrong place: “Window pull down menu”
