    Figured it out. It’s embarrassing. Think I leave the knickers in a bunch as punishment.

    Thanks for the tips Mylenium, but it did not work. Then I tried a number of things.

    I rendered the pre-comp out to a .mov file and then reimported it and the type layer and tried again. Same results.

    I then rebooted and opened a new comp, reimported the movie file and the type layer. Same results. Again what’s happening is that the “analize” button does not turn into the “apply” button. It just stays on the “analyze” state.

    Any other ideas? Redo my preferences (how do a do that)? Really got my nickers in a bunch here.

    What if you wanted to parent the “emitter” to another layer, say a soda bottle. So it looked like the bottle was flying around and being trailed by the light streaks. Any problems with parenting in your porcess?

    Also Boris Continuun Complete 3.0 has some filter that don’t work well (if at all)…upgrading to 4.0 costs $249. Also Digial 3D Assistants need to be upgraded. All in all it gets a little expensive.

    I’ve gotten that message, but usally only after working the program hard and it seems to run into a RAM brick wall.

    But …you might try just trashing your preferrences.
